Obituary for Jim Armstrong
Mr. Jim Armstrong, age 71, long time resident of Roosevelt, was pronounced dead on arrival at Hobart Elkview Hospital of an apparent heart attack suffered about 2:00 P.M., Saturday afternoon at the Co-op Wheat Elevator in Roosevelt.
Funeral services have been set for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday at the Roosevelt First Baptist Church, officiated by the Reverend David Walker. Burial will be in Roosevelt Cemetery under direction of Lowell Funeral Home of Altus. He will lie in state at Lowell Memorial Chapel in Roosevelt.
Born July 30th, 1907 at Hobart, he was married in April 1934, at Hobart, to the former Anna Murphey, who survives of the home. He was an Elevator and Storage Operator and had worked a great number of years for the Farmer's Coop Elevators in Roosevelt.
Additional survivors include: four sons, Jimmy Ray of Long Beach, CA, Bobby Joe, U.S. Navy, Jerry Wayne of the home, Glen Ray of Roosevelt; one daughter, Mrs. James (Betty) Barnes of Roosevelt; four sisters, Madgeline Westerman of Snyder, Lela Chance of California, Lola Belle McCullar of Trona, CA and Imogene Brazil of Mt. Park; eight grandchildren.
