Jimmie Matheny, age 95, passed away peacefully near his family home in Granite, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Willford Matheny and Mattie Golden Caddell Matheny, and his sister LaVern Avery. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Snow, siblings Charles Matheny, Wilene Jones, Jo Jones, and Jean Hanks and his son, Corey, daughter-in-law Ruth, and grandchildren Rachel, Ryan, and Jacob.
A proud veteran, Jimmie served in the Air Force during the Korean War, demonstrating his bravery and commitment to his country. After his military service, Jimmie dedicated many years of his life to El Paso Natural Gas.
Jimmie found solace and enjoyment in several hobbies throughout his life. An avid golfer, he relished the time spent on the course, creating lasting memories with his son. Jimmie was also known as the ultimate "Mr. Fix-It," spending countless hours in his workshop, where his skilled hands could mend anything broken.
Though Jimmie has departed this world, he will be missed.
A come and go visitation will be 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Greer Funeral Home, Granite, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2024, at First Baptist Church, Granite, Oklahoma, interment will follow at Granite City Cemetery, Granite, Oklahoma.
