Obituary for Jimmy M. Murphy
Jimmy Miles Murphy, age 71 of Amarillo, Texas and formerly a longtime resident of Harmon County Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the Veterans Center in Amarillo.
Jimmy was born in Hollis, Oklahoma to Miles P. and Mary Jane (White) Murphy. He was raised and educated in Hollis, Oklahoma. From a young age he was taught a good work ethic, the Murphy children helped in there parents paper business distributing the Daily Oklahoman all around Harmon County, In 1966 Jimmy joined the United States Army serving as a mechanic in Anchorage, Alaska. In 1968 he returned home to Hollis, Oklahoma.
On September 25, 2019 Jimmy gave his life to the Lord at his home in Amarillo, Texas.
He was greeted at the gates of heaven by his daughter Angie, his parents Miles P. Murphy and Mary Jane Murphy, Brother Ronnie Murphy.
Left to honor his memory are his two Brothers Eddie Murphy of Amarillo, Bobby Murphy of Amarillo, Texas, his two grandchildren Holly and Lexie, daughter Shawna Murphy. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Murphy Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday October 11th, 2019 at Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday October 11, 2019 at Dryden Cemetery in Hollis, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
