Obituary for Jimmy Ray Montgomery
Jimmy Montgomery, 63 of Hollis, Oklahoma and formerly of Mineral Wells, Texas, passed away April 7, 2020 at the Colonial Manor in Hollis.
Jimmy was born in Farmersville, Texas on August 10, 1956 one of nine children to his parents Cecil and Deathia (Williams) Montgomery. Jimmy was raised in Hollis and throughout the years Jimmy owned and operated filling stations in Jacksboro, Texas. He also worked in the oil fields, drove trucks, worked construction, worked many crop harvests, and worked as a licensed plumber. Jimmy married Shirley Thomas on January 10, 2010 in Hollis and they have enjoyed their years of marriage together. Jimmy enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He would always go out of his way to help other people and he was a gentle and caring man that will be missed very much.
Survivors include; his wife Shirley Montgomery of the home in Hollis; two sons, Jimmy R. Montgomery, Jr. of Hollis; and Brian Clark and wife Sarah of Amarillo; three daughters, Jamie Montgomery of Washington State; Jessica Clark of Ft. Worth, Texas; and Christina Clark of Arkansas; four brothers, Ricky; David; Brett; and Doinnie Montgomery; three sisters, Patricia Johnson; Kathy; and Dorothy Johnson; twelve grandchildren, Braxton, Bennett, Sterling, seven grandchildren of daughter Jamie, Eric, and Ashelyn; two great grandchildren, Rylen and Kyler; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Deathia Montgomery and one brother Cecil Montgomery, Jr.
