Obituary for Jodie Christine Payne
Jodie Christine Payne, age 88, passed away August 9, 2005 at English Village Manor in Altus, Oklahoma.
She was born December 17, 1917, in Hollis, Oklahoma, to Hunter and Velma (Landerth) Pate.
Jodie married Ira L. Payne on August 17, 1935 in Jackson County, he preceded here in death on November 11, 1986.
She was a lifelong resident of Jackson county, and a member of the Duke Methodist Church. Jodie was a member of the Home Demonstration
Club and the UMW Club.
Jodie is survived by one daughter, Sharon Moore and husband Roland of Altus, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law; Elmeda Payne of Altus, Oklahoma, one sister, Lorene Pate of Duke, Oklahoma, three grandsons; Mark Breeding, of Duke, Oklahoma, Darrin Payne and wife Donna of Duke, Oklahoma and Duane Payne and wife Tara of Victoria, Texas. She is also survived by five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ira Payne, one son, Buck Payne, three sisters, two brothers and one granddaughter, Travonna Breeding.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 11, 2005 at 10:30 am at the Duke Methodist Church with Rev. Elbert Shumaker and Rev. Britt Thomasson officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery, under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
