Obituary for Joel Franklin Halliday
Joel Franklin Halliday age 82, of Eldorado, Oklahoma, was born December 4, 1914, in Sherman, Texas, the son of the late Thomas Edison Halliday and Sadie (Boaldin) Webb. He was a lifelong resident of Eldorado. Joel served in the United States Army Air Corps during World Work II, being Honorably Discharged at the rank of Corporal. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm, Friday, October 10, 1996, in the Eldorado Church of Christ with Bill Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Joel was employed with the United States Postal Service as Post Master of Eldorado for over 36 years. He was a member of the Eldorado Church of Christ and the American Leigon.
Survivors include sister-in-law Virgie Halliday of Ranger, Texas; nephew, Thomas Ed Halliday and wife; Eldora of Hot Springs, S.D.; three nieces, Virgie Dean Lanier and husband, O.G. of Midland, Texas, Edna Good and husband, John of Yellowstone, Wyoming, and pat Greer and husband cousins, Jerry of Ranger, Texas and a host of cousins.
Preceded in death by parents, brother, J.E. Halliday; sister Estalee Wilder, sister EvelynTate.
