Obituary for John Borders Sr.
John Borders, Sr. age 91 passed away Sunday, February 25, 2001 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. He was born August 27, 1909 in Texas. On November 24, 1929 in Ft. Worth, Texas John and Pauline Perkins were united in marriage. She preceded him in death April 9, 1991.
John served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. As a young man he was a carrier for the Texas Star Telegram, he then served as country circulation manager for the Ft. Worth Press. He later was manger of a beer distributorship for over 20 years in Tarrant County. He founded the Wholesale Beer Distributor of Tarrant County and also served as it's president. he was a member of the Lions, Elks, Masonic Lodge Sertoma Clubs. He was a lifelong avid golfer. He retired as an Aetna Life Insurance Agent.
He is survived by his son, John Borders Jr. and his wife Debra of Altus, Oklahoma, five brothers and sisters, William "Peg" Borders, Mrs Inez Croft, Mrs. Hazel White, Mrs, Beulah Fleming, Dave S. Borders; two grandchildren, Curtis Cotnern, April Preston and her husband Shannon , one great-grandchild, Connor Preston.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at 10:00am at the First United Methodist Church Family worship Center in memory of John Borders, Sr.
