John Clifford Stewart, age 77, of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away July 31, 1982, at English Village Nursing Home in Altus.
John was born November 2, 1905, in Jackson County to A. T. and Belle (Barnes) Stewart. He married Mae Ward Barnett, February 1, 1957 in Woodward, Oklahoma. John was a retired buisnessman builder and rancher. He served during World War II with the United States Army.
John was a member of the American Legion and former Elk. He was a life long resident of Jackson County.
Funeral services for John Stewart are scheduled for Tuesday, August 2, 1982 at 2:30 pm in Tims Chapel of Memories, Altus, officiated by Keith Wiginton. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
John is survived by his wife, Mae, of the home in Altus; one sister, Elizabeth Sutton, Lawton, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews.
