Obituary for John Elliott
John Elliott, 85, of Altus, passed away December 20, 2011, at his home in Altus. He was born October 27, 1926 to Mick and Elizabeth Elliott at their home south of Altus. He graduated from Porter High School in 1945. On December 28, 1950, John and Edith Tabb were united in marriage. He spent his entire life farming south of Altus. He was a member of the Price of Peace Catholic Church and was an usher since he was sixteen.
He is survived by his wife, Edith; his daughter Benita Adams, her husband Edward, and their son Spencer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his sisters, Esther Godwin of McLoud and Mary Willeford and husband Eddie of Altus; his brother-in-law, B.W. Hicks; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Della Anderson, Darlene Godwin, and Maxine Hicks, and his brothers, Jacob Elliott, George Elliott, and Charlie Elliott.
A Funeral Mass has been scheduled for Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at 1:00 P.M. at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Reverend Joseph Sundar Pudota officiating. A Rosary will be conducted at Lowell-Tims Chapel on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. Inurnment will be in Altus City Cemetery at a later date. Lowell-Tims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
