John H. Powell age 84, of Altus, died August 12, 1982, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
John was born May 12, 1898 in Eldorado, Oklahoma to Raymond and Annie (McHendree) Powell.
He married Mary Ellen December 1959. John was a retired farmer, retiring in 1965, and had bee a life long resident of southwest Oklahoma.
Funeral services for John Powell are scheduled for Sunday, August 15, 1982 at 3 pm in Tims Chapel of Memories, Altus, officiated by Jerry Plew and Bill Davis. Burial will follow in the Louis Hill Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
John is survived by two sons, Eugene Powell, Oildale, California; Johnny Powell, Frederick, Oklahoma; four daughters, Mrs. Troy Drury, Altus, Oklahoma; Mrs. Leroy West, Caddo, Oklahoma; Mrs. Frank Roberts, Iowa Park, Texas; Mrs. Kenneth Davis, Burkburnett, Texas; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren; one sister Cordie Boyd, Conway, Missouri.
