Johnny Ray Hendricks, age 52, of Edmond, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011, at Mercy Hospital, in Oklahoma City
Born in Clinton, Oklahoma on January 9, 1960 to Vernita Ellison and William Hendricks, Johnny grew up in Mangum, Oklahoma where he attended school. Johnny was a wonderful father to his children; LaQuita Christon, Raylene Cayton and Jonathan Dean. Johnny later married Robin Dean of Battle Creek, Michigan on May 14, 1980, in Wellington, Texas. After working five years at Republic Gypsum, in Duke, the family moved to Lawton, Oklahoma where he worked at Republic Gypsum, at Fletcher.
After retiring, Johnny and Robin moved to the Oklahoma City area where they currently lived until his passing. Johnny was a member of Peoples Church, in Oklahoma City, under the ministry of Pastor Cooper.
Johnny Ray was proceeded in death by his parents, Willliam and Vernita Hendricks Ellison.
Johnny leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of thirty-one years, Robin Hendricks, of Edmond, LaQuita Christon of Edmond, Raylene Cayton of Oklahoma City and Jonathan Dean of Edmond; grandchildren, Asha Dean, Cedric Christon, Jr., Kaliya Cayton and Jathan Dean; siblings, William Hendricks, Robert Dale Hendricks, Bertha Spencer, all of Mangum, Wanda Hendricks and Johnetta Lane Williams of Oklahoma City; two aunts and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Johnny Ray Hendricks will be at 1 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2011, at the Mangum Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
