Obituary for Jonnie Amanda Byrd
Jonnie Amanda Byrd, age 93 of Springfield, Missouri, passed away December 10, 2001. Funeral services, under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, are set for 10:00am Friday, December 14, 2001 at the First Baptist Church of Blair. The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Thursday evening.
Jonnie was born on March 23, 1908 at Greer County, Oklahoma to parents John and Eliza Rodenhouse. She was united in marriage on June 2, 1923 to R.G. (Tige) Byrd. They enjoyed many years of marriage. Jonnie was active at the First Baptist Church of Blair, where she taught Sunday School for 60 years. She was a lifelong resident of the Blair Community and was a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern star where she served as a secretary for over 20 years.
Jonnie was preceded in death by her husband Tige, her son Douglas and one great-great grandson, Wesley.
She is survived by her children, David Byrd of San Antonio, Texas, Faye Walker of Denison, Texas, Lois Hall of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, Shirley Clark of Geronimo, Oklahoma, Roberta Conatsu of Lawton, Oklahoma, James "Jim" Byrd of Blair, Oklahoma; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; cousin
Bob Collier and a host of other relatives and friends.
