Obituary for Jorge Lopez
Jorge Eduardo Lopez Mata, 33, resident of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away January 4, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Jorge was born April 27, 1987, to Rafael Lopez Magallon and Eloisa Mata Sanchez in Los Reyes, Michoacan, Mexico. At the age of nine, Jorge and his family moved to Altus, Oklahoma. Jorge attended school in Altus, Oklahoma. His parents always promoted the importance of education, but in junior high, Jorge started to check himself out of school so that he could get an education in the things he was interested in, such as being an entrepreneur and construction. A solid work ethic was instilled in Jorge from his father at a young age. The Lopez family worked in farming, but Jorge always dreamed of a different life. He was a self-taught craftsman who could do any job on the construction site. If he didn't know, he could learn it or figure it out with great ease. His tile work is said to be some of the best in the state of Oklahoma. In 2015, Jorge started "George's Remodeling." Thru hard work and dedication to his clients, he remodeled many homes and businesses in Altus and the surrounding communities. Jorge was a natural with people. He was great at organizing people to get the job done in a timely and efficient manner. On November 14, 2008, Jorge married the love of his life, Juana Ramirez Saucedo.
He was always looking for the next adventurer and took every day as a blessing from God. He was always happy and could brighten any ones day with his smile and positive attitude. Faith and devolution to Jesus Christ were very important to the Lopez family, and they are proud members of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus, Oklahoma.
When he wasn't busy with running his company, Jorge enjoyed playing and watching soccer, attending cockfighting, playing pranks on his family, dancing, listening to music, watching boxing, traveling, enjoying a cold beer or two with family and friends. But the thing Jorge enjoyed the most was being with his family. His family was everything and his reason for all his hard work. Jorge's primary goal in life was to provide for his wife, parents, and family.
Left to honor Jorge's memory are his wife, Juana Ramirez Saucedo; his parents, father, Rafael Lopez Magallon, mother, Eloisa Mata Sanchez, brothers, Rafael Lopez, Jose Antonio Lopez, Richard Alberto Lopez, Gerardo Lopez; sisters, Hilda Lopez, Veronica Lopez, Blanca Vasquez, Elida Lopez, Eloisa Lopez, Janeth Lopez, forty - nine, nieces and nephews, fifteen, Godchildren, many "Compadaries and Comrades" and an infinite amount of friends who loved him as a brother.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Altus City Cemetery, Altus, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Lowell - Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
