Jose M. Alcorta, age 89, of Altus, passed away late Thursday evening, October 9, 2014, at his residence, in Altus.
Mr. Jose Maria Alcorta was born in Charlotte, Texas on January 21, 1925, to Mr. and Mrs. Miguel Alcorta. With his mother dying at his birth, his father, step mother and other family members raised Jose. Due to his father's employment, Jose lived in many locations. Over forty eight years ago, he married Catalina Murillo. Through the years, he worked for John Deere, Thurman Gregg's Car Wash and at different cotton gins in the area. A farmer at heart, Jose loved tending his goats, pigs, chickens and geese, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Jose is survived by his beloved wife, Catalina, of the home; twenty children; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends, may he rest in peace.
