Obituary for Joseph Edmund McGrory
Joseph Edmund McGrory, beloved father, brother and grandfather passed peacefully September 14, 2021, at the age of 80.
Joe, born January 29, 1941, was originally from Philadelphia, PA. He joined the United States Air Force in 1958, which gave him the ability to travel the world. While in Germany, he met his bride of 60 years Christa McGrory. They married in 1960. In 1978, they settled in Blair, Oklahoma where in 1985, SMSgt Joseph McGrory would retire from the Air Force and begin a new career with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. He served the OHP honorably and proudly retired in 2003 as a 2nd Lieutenant.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife and parents, and is survived by his sister, Josephine McGrory. He will be forever remembered as a loving father by his three children, Tom McGrory (wife Stephanie McGrory), Andrea Buck (husband Gregg Buck), and Christine Brooks (husband Tommy Brooks). Joe will also be fondly remembered as the most wonderful Opa by his six grandchildren Stacy Mancuso, Lauren Smith, Brayden Buck, Dylan Brooks, Dakota McGrory and Parker Brooks, and his eight great grandchildren.
Open visitation will be 10:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Monday, September 20, 2021 at Lowell - Tims Funeral Home, Altus, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Centennial Chapel at Altus City Cemetery, Altus, Oklahoma.
