Joy Marie (Jones) Sullivan, 77 year old resident of Altus passed away late Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Bridges Skilled Rehabilitation at Plantation Village in Altus.
Joy was born in Elk City, Oklahoma on March 3, 1939 to her parents Woodrow and Lillian Francis Jones. She attended Highway School south of Elk City and soon after married Clarence Eugene Sullivan. As a young family they settled in the Navajo, Oklahoma area to raise their family. Later the family moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma where Joy managed the local Braum"s and worked as a Nurse"s Aide at the Ponca City Hospital. She had resided in Altus for the last 50 years and worked at the MacDonald"s in the past as a manager. Joy enjoyed watching her TV show and spending time with her family.
Preceded in death by her parents; her three brothers, Sam Higginbotham; Steve Higginbotham; and Jerry Jones; Joy is survived by her three children, Nancy Ann (Sullivan) Moore and husband Benny of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Mike Sullivan of Navajo; and John Sullivan also of Navajo; two brothers, George Jones and Larry Jones both of Texas; four sisters, Alice Cox; Linda Thomas; Helen Jones; and Evelyn Jones all of Texas; five grandchildren, Jason Stockton; Colton Moore; Chad Moore; Jeremy Moore; and Laci Moore; several great grandchildren; her beloved aunt Nancy Allen and uncle Brad Allen of Duncan, Oklahoma; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Friendship Baptist Church with Pastor Brad Allen officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
