HENDRICKS
Joyce Hendricks, age 63, a longtime resident of Mangum, passed away late Tuesday evening, July 22, 2014 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Joyce was born in Dallas, Texas on November 24, 1950 to Ranson and Juanita (Hart) Satterwhite. She graduated from Altus High School in the late 60"s and attended nursing school in Kansas City, Missouri. One summer Joyce came home to visit and she met Billy Hendricks and they were married on August 28, 1972 in Wellington, Texas. Joyce and Billy settled in Mangum where they raised their family and they were married for well over 41 years before Joyce"s death. She worked as a Ward Clerk at the Mangum City Hospital and retired after 30 years and then worked as the head of medical records at the Grace Living Center in Mangum until her health started to decline. Joyce was an Eastern Star and attended St. Zion Baptist Church in Mangum. She loved her family very much and enjoyed going to basketball and football games and supporting her children"s activities. Joyce also loved spending as much time as she could with her grandbabies and she will be missed very much.
Preceded in death by her parents; one son, Tommy Lee Hendricks; and one daughter, Valinda Davis Hendricks; Joyce is survived by her husband Billy Hendricks of the home; one son, Ronald Keith Hendricks of Mangum; one daughter Elizabeth Hendricks of Muskogee, Oklahoma; one sister, Lois Marie Davis of Lawton; three grandchildren, Juanita Jirae Hendricks, Tarell Keith Hendricks, and Faith Marie Hendricks; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, July 25, 2014 at Greer Funeral Home in Mangum.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Mangum Church of Christ, 401 East Lincoln in Mangum with Pastor James Reed and Reverend James Callins officiating. Interment will follow at the City Cemetery in Altus, Oklahoma under the direction of Greer Funeral Home, Mangum.
