Obituary for Joyce Scott
Joyce Scott, 85, of Martha, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at her home with her daughter, Joyce Cox, and wonderful caregiver, Kathy Smith, by her side.
Joyce was born January 14, 1927, in Preston, Lancashire, England, to John and Agnes (Hall) Roskell. She married Cullus Scott, who was in the Army Air Corps, on September 4, 1945, in Preston, Lancashire, England. Joyce became a citizen of the United States of America on June 18, 1957, in El Paso, Texas. Joyce and her husband retired in Martha in 1962 after twenty-one years of service in the Air Force. Joyce was a caregiver for over twenty years for the elderly in and around Martha and Altus.
Preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, and one sister, Joyce is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Joyce and Sterling Cox of Norman, Oklahoma, and Tina Trumbo of Norman, Oklahoma; five grandsons and their wives, Sean and Regina Cox of Wanette, Oklahoma, Jeremy and Jenny of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Scott and April Trumbo of Purcell, Oklahoma, Jayson and Amber Trumbo of Duncan, Oklahoma, and Brandon Trumbo of Gulfport, Mississippi; six great-grandsons, Silas Cox, Dalton Cox, Kaleb Trumbo, Jaydan Trumbo, Michael Trumbo, and Girodan Trumbo; six great-granddaughters, Pamela Cox, Isabella Cox, Ashley Trumbo, Christina Trumbo, Alyssa Trumbo, and Alyson Trumbo.
Memorial Services for Joyce Scott will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Lowell-Tims Chapel in Altus with Don Hervey officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
