Julian Wayne Brown, age 66, of Sulphur, Oklahoma, formerly of Altus, passed away Thursday morning, February 20, 2014, at the Oklahoma Veterans Center, in Sulphur.
Mr. Brown was born in Ahoskie, North Carolina on May 10, 1947, to Julian and Viola Brown. A graduate of Ahoskie High School, Julian joined the United States Air Force in 1969, where he proudly served his country for the next four years. Assigned to Altus Air Force Base in 1972, Julian established a home in Altus, where he raised his family. Moving back to North Carolina for a time and later to Oklahoma City, he moved to the Sulphur Veteran Center in 2007, when his health began to fail.
Preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Bill Brown and his first wife, Juanita (Horton) Brown, he is survived by six children, Chris Jenkins, Carla Fleming and husband Alfred, Dionne Brown, Yohance Brown and wife JoLinda, Corel Brown and Brandi Brown; fifteen grandchildren Damien, Shakema, Brandon, Ashley, Malcolm, Marquita, Darkia, Jaycie, Jaylie, De" jon, Denaisha, Darion, Aerial, Tatiana, and Charlie along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Julian Wayne Brown will be at 10 a.m., Monday, February 24, 2014, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor De Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
