Karen Quay Bornholdt, age 67, of Wichita Falls, Texas, formerly of Altus, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 18, 2014, in Wichita Falls, Texas
Karen was born in Altus, Oklahoma on October 18, 1946, to Clifton "Flash" and Virginia L. (Saunders) Gordon. Living in Altus most of her life, Karen attended Washington Elementary and Central Junior High, graduating from Altus High School, in 1965. After graduation, Karen attended Altus Junior College and worked at M & C Construction. She later worked at Southwest Metal and Trade for several years before finding her love in life, caring for others in their homes. A longtime member of the Thomas Street Church of Christ, Karen loved caring for others. In 1997, because of failing health, Karen moved to Wichita Falls, Texas to be near her daughter.
Preceded in death by her mother, Virginia, she is survived by her father, Flash Gordon; two children, Robbie Bornholdt and wife Kristi of Hobbs, New Mexico and Lori Campbell and husband David of Henrietta, Texas; four grandchildren, Karli Jean Bornholdt, Reagan Campbell, Brooke Campbell and Lane Campbell; one sister, Jinger Brown and husband Clyde of Lewisville, Texas; one niece, Gina Savage and husband Luke of Birmingham, Alabama; one nephew, Brandon Brown and wife Holly of Abilene, Texas along with many other relatives and friends.
Services for Karen Bornholdt will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
The family will greet friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m., on Friday evening, February 21, 2014, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
