Karl Forehand Jr. was born August 21, 1942, in El Reno, Oklahoma to Karl and Florence Ellen (Woods) Forehand and died December 28, 2009, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Karl lived in many parts of the United States during his father"s Air Force Career. He graduated from Midwest City High School in 1960. He attended college at Central State in Edmond, SWOC in Altus, Southwest Area Technology Center, Burns Flat Technology and took other classes at other institutions. Karl married Judith Ann Fair on December 20th, 1963, at Forest Baptist Church near Chandler, Oklahoma. They were married forty-six years, and to this union were born four sons and one daughter. Karl worked as a warehouseman, in retail lumber, at cotton coops and as a supervisor in Oklahoma City, Altus and Hobart. He retired in 1994 from the Coop in Mangum. The family moved from Moore to Lone Wolf, Oklahoma in 1980 and to Mangum in 1993. Karl coached little league and loved to watch his children and grandchildren in their activities which included football, basketball, softball, baseball, cheerleading and wrestling. During retirement Karl enjoyed working on his computer and playing dominoes with special friends. He was treasurer for Abundant Life Church where he was a faithful member at the time of his death. He was also active in the Angel Food Ministry and helped Judy with publications for her civic and church activities. He will be remembered for his quiet demeanor and his wry sense of humor. Karl is survived by his loving wife, Judy of the home in Mangum; son, Karl Joseph Forehand and wife Laura of Big Lake, Missouri; daughter, Karla Ann Ebert and husband Dan of San Antonio, Texas; son, Monty Aaron Forehand and wife Karla of Loveland, Colorado; son, Kenneth Jeffrey Forehand and wife Jennifer of Norman, Oklahoma; son James Marc Forehand and wife Amy of Parchment, Michigan; daughter Julie Christine Locke Helm of Chandler, Oklahoma; stepsister Joyce Thomason and husband Larry Joe of El Reno; stepbrother Gerald Mason and wife Susan of El Reno; stepbrother Larry Mike Mason and wife Peggy of El Reno; nephew, Mark Forehand of Oklahoma City; numerous other step nieces and nephews; twelve wonderful grandchildren: Lucas Calder, Kalli Nicole, Jordan Alexander, Abigail Christine, Lillian Elizabeth, Samuel James, Grace Ellen and Elizabeth Anne Forehand; Matthew Frederick and Nicholas Daniel Ebert; Ashley and Chelsea Miller; one precious little great grandson, Kyler Jordan Forehand; and many other friends and relatives. Karl was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry B. Forehand; and stepmother, Leota Ione Forehand. A special thanks to Fresenius Dialysis Unit on NE 50th, Dr. Gary Bond, Dr. Mel Clark, Dr. David Caley and all the wonderful doctors, nurses and aides at Integris and Family Medical Clinic along with friends who helped Karl through his many illnesses. He was ready to go and tired of pain.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, January 1, 2010 at the Abundant Life Church with Brother Jeff Dill officiating. Interment will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Sunny Side Picket Cemetery at Meeker, Oklahoma.
The family will greet friends at Greer Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m.
