Kathren E. Risinger
Kathren Emily Risinger passed away Monday May 25, 2000 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital at the age of 78.
Kathren was born August 25, 1921, in Dawson, Texas to Clarence and Jimmie (Walls) Ward. She married John Risinger December 12, 1942 in Altus. She was employed at Falcon Road Cleaners in alterations for a number of years, and from 1991 to 1998, she was a familiar face to many people as a greeter at Wal Mart in Altus. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County and a very active member of the First Assembly of God Church in Altus.
Kathren is survived by five daughters, Mary Pollard of Altus, Betty Harralson and her husband Stanley of Altus, Emily Kekahuna and her husband Alex of Las Vega, Nevada, Rebecca Nall of Altus and Dana Amick of Altus; one sister, Mary King of Queensland, Australia; two brothers, Joe Ward and his wife Naomi of Houston, Texas, and Emory Ward and his wife Ramona of San Antonio, Texas; twelve grandchildren, twenty-two Great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many '/friends
Kathren was preceded in death by her par ents, her husband,John, December 8, 1991, one brother, Dempsey Ward, one daughter, and three grandchildren.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday, May 22, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Chapel with the Reverend Richard Ventonis officiating. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
