Obituary for Kathy Mae Ballard Monday

Kathy Mae Ballard Monday, a cherished resident of Altus, Oklahoma, gracefully departed this world on April 29, 2024, at Harmon County Memorial Hospital in Hollis, Oklahoma at the age of sixty-eight. Born on March 9, 1956, in Altus, Oklahoma, to proud parents Carl D. Ballard and Mary Lula Bell Ballard, Kathy's journey was one marked by love, devotion, and unwavering faith.
Educated and nurtured in the heart of Altus, Kathy's life blossomed with the arrival of her greatest joys - her children. In 1973, her heart overflowed with joy as she welcomed her first daughter, Melinda, into the world, followed by the arrival of her son, Dustin in 1977 and her youngest daughter, Dawn. These three are whom her world revolved. Her devotion to her family knew no bounds, her love an endless ocean that sustained and uplifted those around her.
An enthusiast of OU football, Kathy eagerly awaited each fall to watch her beloved Sooners take the field, her spirit soaring with every victory. Yet, amidst her passion for sports, Kathy found solace and tranquility in her garden, where the delicate beauty of her roses and tulips mirrored the grace that radiated from her soul. She found joy in sharing her love for nature with her children and grandchildren, often embarking on camping adventures that forged bonds of laughter and memories that would endure a lifetime.
Above all, Kathy's steadfast faith in Jesus Christ illuminated her path, guiding her with unwavering strength and solace. She found comfort in her belief that He was her Lord and Savior, a beacon of hope that anchored her through life's trials and triumphs. As a devoted grandmother, Kathy reveled in the precious moments spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing each embrace, laugh, and whispered secret shared.
To Kathy, family was not merely a word but a sanctuary, a haven of love and belonging that transcended time and space. Her legacy of love and devotion will forever echo in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her, a testament to a life well-lived and a spirit that soared with grace.
