Kermit Cansler, 79, of Altus died Friday At the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. No services are scheduled as Mr. Cansler will be cremated in Lawton, Oklahoma. Arrangements are with Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, 1100 Tamarack Road.

Cansler was born April 4, 1911 in Cleveland, Tennessee. He was a retired factory auto worker and veteran. He had been living in Altus for the last 13 months moving here from Detroit, Michigan and was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include; one son, William Cansler of Altus, one brother, Ray Charles Ramsey of Cleveland, Tennessee, three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and one sister.
