Kimberly Ann Davis passed away Sunday, May 21,2023, at Mangum Regional Medical Center in Mangum, Oklahoma at the age of 58.
Kim was born May 30, 1964, in Mangum, Oklahoma to Jerry Hollis Tharp and Patricia A. McClendon Tharp. She was raised and educated in Mangum, Oklahoma, and graduated in 1982 from Mangum High School. Following high school Kim attended Western Oklahoma State College in Altus, Oklahoma. On March 2, 1985, Kim married Scotty Dale Davis in Mangum, Oklahoma. The Davis family made their home in Lake Creek, Oklahoma before moving two miles outside of Willow. In 1988, the Davis family was blessed with the birth of their daughter, Megan.
Kim had numerous jobs over the years she worked at Mangum Regional Medical Center, Mangum Oil and Gas, Playtime Day Care in Granite, Oklahoma, Tiger Cub Daycare in Mangum, Oklahoma, Farm Bureau in Mangum, Oklahoma, and in 2007 she started working at Great Plains National Bank in Mangum, Oklahoma. She was known for her kindness and warm personality as a bank teller. After fourteen years of service to the bank Kim retired so could help care for her dad and her two grandsons.
She loved gardening, maintaining her yard, and cooking. Kim was known around Mangum as being an incredible cook, who could turn a basic meal into a culinary delight but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandsons Collin and Brennan.
Kim was a believer in Jesus Christ and was a member of Living Waters United Pentecostal Church. The day she passed she spent hours in prayer.
Kim was a kind and loving person who enjoyed being around people. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her kindness will be missed tremendously.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Patricia Tharp; uncle, Darrell McClendon; grandmother, Mildred Gable; infant daughter, Holly Ann Davis, and husband Scotty Dale Davis.
Left to honor and cherish her memory are daughter, Megan Slaton, and husband Andy; father, Jerry Tharp; sister, Tonya Wilder; grandsons, Collin and Brennan Slaton; niece, Chealsi Wilder; nephew, Chance Wilder; great-niece, Kazdyn Wilder; a dear friend, Sue Gudmundson, and several cousins.
The Davis / Slaton family will receive friends and family at Greer Funeral Home, Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Living Water United Pentecostal Church in Mangum, Oklahoma. A committal service will immediately follow to Roselawn Cemetery, Mangum, Oklahoma.
Services have been entrusted to Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
