Klyda Eleanor (Mitchell) Hollen Ellingwood, age 89, of Altus and formerly of Eldorado passed away early Thursday morning, October 10, 2013, at English Village Manor, in Altus.
Mrs. Ellingwood was born in Eldorado, Oklahoma on August 20, 1924, to LeRoy and Lois (Williams) Mitchell. Growing up in the Eldorado area, Klyda married Leo Hollen in 1944 and they traveled to many different locations with his military career. After Leo"s death, she married Doug Ellingwood in November 1988 and they had many wonderful years together before his death in 2012. In her spare time, Klyda enjoyed crocheting, gardening and cooking.
Preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one brother, J.P. Mitchell; one sister, Verdel Tigert and three sons, Randy Hollen, Mike Hollen and Terry Hollen, she is survived by one grandson, Willy Hollen and wife Shea of Altus; two great granddaughters, Konlee Hollen and Whitlee Hollen; three sisters, Leanna Marshall and husband Harvey of Hobart, Rita Belcher of Dallas and Joyce Walling of Duncan along with many other relatives and friends.
In accordance with Mrs. Ellingwood"s wishes, she will be cremated and a graveside service will be conducted prior to her burial. Graveside services for Klyda (Mitchell) Hollen Ellingwood will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at the Eldorado Cemetery with Brother Ray Jolin officiating. Services are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
