BRISCOE

Kristopher Todd Briscoe, formally of Altus, passed away on May 7, 2014, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Kris was born on Dec. 5, 1970, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital, in Altus. Kris graduated from Altus High School with the class of 1989. During his junior year of high school he attended Oklahoma Boys State and became interested in the Navy. After deciding that college was not a direction he wanted to go, he joined the United States Navy in 1990 and served for four years, most of the time on a submarine. While in the Navy, Kris became interested in computers, and after leaving the Navy, he started writing computer programs for different companies. Kris became very successful at what he did and his work literally took him all over the world in his short twenty year career. At the time of his death he had accepted a position with IBM and was leaving for New York City the next day. Kris was a Notre Dame and OU Sooners fan. Kris was loved by many and he was especially fond of his grandmother, Wilma Briscoe. He was a very good young man with a heart of gold and would try to do anything to help anyone that he could.

Kris is survived by his father Brent Briscoe and wife Robyn of Norman; his mother Glynda Johnson of Piedmont; three stepbrothers, Kevin Briscoe of Norman, Jeremy Briscoe of Norman and Trinity Johnson and wife Emily of Yukon; one stepsister, Shanicy Stiner of Weatherford; his grandmother, Wilma Briscoe of Altus; an aunt Ladonna White of Oklahoma City; two nieces, Melissa Patterson of Edmond and Stormi Risner of Oklahoma City; three uncles, Johnny Patterson of Crosswhite, Tennessee, Kristopher Parker, Rodney Briscoe and his wife Tammi of Abilene, Texas along with many other relatives and a host of friends.

Kris was preceeded in death by one stepbrother, Kevin Askins; his stepfather, Gary Johnson; his grandfather, Dale Briscoe; his uncle Derek Briscoe; his grandparents Glenn and Ann Smith and a niece Kaylee McCown. For many years Kris had a companion, his beloved Sheltie Collie, Abu, who also preceded him in death.

A memorial service for Kris Briscoe will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating.

The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., on Thursday, preceding the memorial service.
