Obituary for Larry Michael Wilson
Larry Maxwell Wilson aka MICHAEL answered to the call of our heavenly Father on February 20, 2025, at the age of 70.
He was born to Tommie J (Hayes) Wilson and Julius Bufford in Marlin, TX. Larry grew up in Marlin, TX, and later moved to Hollis, OK, with his Mother and step-father: William B Wilson. He attended Arnett High School but decided to join the US Marines in 1972, where he received his GED in Japan. Larry served in the US Marines from 1972 - 1976 as a Wireman and Radio TeleOperator. He received several honors among them being National Defense Service Medal, Sharp Shooter Rifle Badge, and Good Conduct Medal.
While in the Marines he met and married his first wife, Pauline, in Yuma, AZ, and to this union his first son, Adrian, was born. Larry received honorable discharge and moved to Dallas, TX, where he worked in several occupations. Larry decided to move back to Hollis, where he married the love of his life: Gwendolyn, and conceived his daughter: Whitney. In this union he gained three bonus sons: Douglass, Herman, and Ramon.
After returning from Texas, Larry worked at the CM2, the American Republican Gypsum, and retired with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. He enjoyed playing golf and talking smack while often referring to himself as the next Tiger Woods. Larry was a fan of any team from Texas such as: Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and Texas Longhorns. Larry adored his children and especially held a special love for all his grandchildren. They were his world and the joy of his being. Jacobi, Jaci, and Jaylen of the home filled him with delight and laughter. He taught them many valuable life lessons and enjoyed them to the fullest. Larry always prayed for his family and was an extremely hard worker. He always supported the church and especially Mother Wilson in all her church goals and projects. He was a lover of the finer things in life. A collector of watches and guns were among some of his favorite things. Larry gave the best and only accepted the best in life.
