Obituary for Laverne Elizabeth Green
Laverne Elizabeth Green, age 83, of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at English Village Manor.
She was born June 4, 1922 in Altus, Oklahoma, to Ida and William Steimer.
On December 27, 1945 in Vernon, Texas, Laverne and Hubert R. "Skeet" Green were united in marriage. He preceded her in death February 25, 2003. Laverne had lived in the Altus and Jackson County area most of her life. She was very dedicated to her family and friends, and was always there when anyone needed a helping hand. Her greatest joy in life was loving and being with her family, especially her children and grandson. She loved to entertain her friends and will be remembered for the many "cookouts" she had for them.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altus.
She is survived by one daughter Linda Carol Green of El Reno, Oklahoma; one grandson, Huston Reynolds Green of San Antonio, Texas; one brother William D. Steimer of Eufaula, Oklahoma, sister-in-law, Billie Sue Chick of Cedar Hills, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Skeet Green; son Kenneth B. green, one sister, Bonnie Gayle Monnier and one brother Jim Stroud.
Graveside services for Laverne are scheduled for Friday, September 30, 2005 at 2:00pmm at the Restlawn Cemetery with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
