He married Carrie Beeson September, 18, 1910 in Hillsboro, Texas. They came to Oklahoma in 1911. Lawrence was a member of the Elmer Baptist Church and a farmer.
Funeral services for Lawrence Clanon Jones are scheduled for May 9, 1966 at 10:00am in the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Altus, Oklahoma, officiated by Rev. Bill Davis and Rev. Noel George. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Lawrence Clanon Jones is survived by his wife Carrie of the home; two sons Fred Jones, Lubbock, Texas; Joe Jones, Altus, Oklahoma; two daughters, Pearl Richards, Pasadena, California; Dorothy Clowders, Olustee, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ben Wise, Altus, Oklahoma; Mrs. Roy Hopper, Altus, Oklahoma; Mrs Roscoe Myers, Friendship, Oklahoma.
