Lawrence Thomas Chambers, 88, died February 5, 1993 at the Jackson county Memorial Hospital. Me. Chambers was born August 24, 1904 in Arapaho, Indian Territory, to Thomas and Adelaide Chambers. Mr. Chambers graduated from O.S.U. in 1927 where he had been active in the Sigma Nu fraternity. He married Mary Champlin in Lawton on June 24, 1933. Mr. Chambers worked for General Foods for 15 years. Mr. Chambers was the owner of Larrys Resturant for 26 years. He was very active in the community serving as president of the rotary club for 1 year, Altus City Council for 6 years, and the Library Board for 10 years. Mr. Chambers was a 32 degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite, and was a long time member of the St. Pauls Episcopal Church. Memorial services are pending with the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife Mary Champlin Chambers of the home, children Susan Chambers Adams of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jane Chambers Kramer of Dallas, Texas; Lawrence T. Chambers Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren.
