Obituary for Lela Faye Bonds
Lela Faye Bonds, age 92 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, March 27, 2004 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She was born January 13, 1912 at Duke, Oklahoma to James Washington Bonds and Eva Angerona (Martin).
She graduated from Duke High School and worked several years at Woolsworth Store and Kellwoods Company where she retired. Lela was a longtime member of the First Methodist Church in Duke.
She is survived by her sister, Ada Bonds of the home in Altus, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Lela was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, James F. Bonds, John Thomas Bonds, Elbert W. Bonds, Robert William Bonds, Buster Brown Bonds, Samuel Uston Bonds; two sisters, Hepsie Mae Bonds and Edna Jackson.
Funeral Services for Lela Faye Bonds are scheduled for Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at 11:30 a.m. at First Methodist Church in Duke, Oklahoma with Rev Elbert Shumaker and Rev Mark Sewell officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
