Obituary for Leon Kelley
Leon Kelley age 79 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, September 1, 2005 at Plantation Village Nursing Home in Altus.
He was born November 8, 1925 in Alfalfa, Oklahoma to H.W. and Nina (Hawkins) Kelley. On January 27, 1943 in Alfalfa, Oklahoma Leon and June Kenedy were united in marriage. She preceded him in death
August 18, 1997.
Leon served in the United State Navy during World War II and was honorable discharged. he worked as a carpet layer for many years in the Altus and Jackson County Area. he owned and operated Leon Kelleys Carpetland and furniture for several years. Leon was a deacon and served as a Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church for many years. He was a dedicated father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Leon is survived by three children, Jerry Kelley and wife Wanda of McKinney, Texas Larry Kelley and wife Cathy of Altus, Oklahoma, Donna Hans and husband Rick of Allen, Texas, one brother Glen Kelley and wife Marie of Maggie Valley, North Carolina. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and a sister in law Joy Troub and husband Bill of Carnegie, Oklahoma one a brother in law, Don Noland and bill of Edmond, Oklahoma.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters and two brothers, one grandson.
Services are scheduled Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Interment will at the Altus City Cemetery, under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral home.
The families will greet friends Friday, September 2, 2005 from 7:00 until 8:00 pm at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
