Doris Stroud
Doris Stroud age 75, of the English Village Nursing Home, Altus, was born December 8, 1920, in Danville, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Jeff and Osie "Moore" Wilson. Mrs. Stroud passed away Wednesday, December 20, 1995, in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 23, 1995, 10:30 am in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev, Boyd Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. On January 19, 1943, she and Willis A. (W.A.) Stroud were united in marriage in Altus, Oklahoma. Mr. Stroud preceded her in death, January 17, 1982. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister; and a member of the Emmaunel Baptist Church.
The family will reside at the home of her sister, Joyce Howard, 908 N. Thomas.
Survivors include children; Ben Stroud and Cathy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Jerry Stroud and Emmaline of Seminole, Florida; Tommy Stroud; brother Dixon Wilson of Oak Grove, Missouri; sister Joyce Howard of Altus, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
Preceded in death by parents; husband, W.A. Stroud, January 17, 1982; sister Lela Burke, February 1961.
