Obituary for Lila Hatch Minor
Lyla "Hatch" Minor, age 80, passed away August 28, 2002 in New Braunfels, Texas. She was a life long resident of the Altus area and had lived the last few years in Texas.
She was born December 23, 1921 at Pilot Point, Texas. She was adopted as an infant by Neece and Iva Alta Hancock. She enjoyed working with horses having had a great love for animals.
Because of her own experience, Lyla was instrumental in helping adopted youth to understand their heritage. She showed them how special they were that they were chosen by their families.
Lyla will long be remembered for her happy, carefree personality and her contagious smile. She will be missed, remembered and treasured by the many who's hearts she has touched through the years.
She is survived by her loving children, Susan Adams, Craig and Estelle Minor; her grandchildren, Robert and Teri Minor, Cindy and Jeff Faulkner, Mark and Cindy Minor, Brian Piggott, Nicole Minor, Celine and Zach Rabon, Natasha Minor, Alexandra "Sasha" Minor; and four great-grandchildren, with another expected soon. Also surviving are a Goddaughter, Wendy Boyles of Dallas, Texas; a niece, Sherry Allen and nephew Jeff Hancock, both of Ft. Worth, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack L. Minor and by a grandson, Allen Shaun Willis.
