Lloyd Leon Ormand, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Mangum, Oklahoma on January 21, 2025, at the age of 80. Born in Cheyenne, Oklahoma on January 17, 1945, to Arthur and Mabel (Bird) Ormand, Lloyd’s life was one of hard work, dedication, and love for his family and community.
In 1971, Lloyd married the love of his life, Lou Ormand, in Altus, Oklahoma. Together, they built a life that spanned across Oklahoma, living in Willow, Harrah, and eventually settling in Mangum, where they made their home and raised their family.
Lloyd’s career was as varied and hardworking as his character. He worked as a farmer, managed the Peanut plant, and most recently, worked as a shop hand for Ormand Farms. His dedication to his work, his community, and his family never wavered. He was also proud to serve as the president of the Mangum Mounties and was an active member of the Methodist Church.
Lloyd was a man who deeply cherished his family. Every moment with them was precious, and he made sure to nurture those bonds, whether through shared laughter, stories, or simply spending time together.
Outside of his work and family, Lloyd had a zest for life that shone through in everything he did. He enjoyed farming, riding, and the friendly competition of games like dice and dominos. His sense of humor and warmth were a constant presence in the lives of those who knew him.
Lloyd’s legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, remembered for the love he gave and the joy he brought to others.
