Lois Ola Canada
Lois Ola Canada, age 98, passed away Friday, December 21, 2007 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She was born March 13, 1909 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Dovie Lee Nix and Charlie Jackson Nix. In August of 1841 in Elmer, Oklahoma Lois and Welton Cecil Canada were united in marriage. He preceded her in death.
Lois worked at several dress shops and Greens Jewelry Store in Altus before she retired. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, loved to fish and enjoyed taking walks with her dog "Butch." Lois was a charter member of the Southside Baptist Church in Altus.
She is survived by one daughter, Ann Graham and husband Herman of Altus, Oklahoma; one son Jerry Canada of Lawton, Oklahoma; one sister Imogene Buckman and husband Robert of Kansas City, Kansas, one brother Claude Nix and wife Maria of Semi Valley, California. She is also survived by four grandsons, Eric Graham and wife Kim of Jenks, Oklahoma; Scott Graham and wife Dawn of Lawton, Oklahoma and Alec Canada of Lawton, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband daughter-in-law, Pat Canada; one brother Chester Nix, four sisters, Ethyl Collette, Cora Pillow, Dorthy Hanley, and Charla Sherman.
Funeral Services for Lois Canada are scheduled for Sunday, December 24, 2007 at 2 :00 pm in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Duree officiating. interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-
Tims Funeral Home.
The family of Lois Canada will greet friends Saturday, December 23, 2007 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
