Obituary for Lois Rae Reynolds
Lois Rae Reynolds was born to Orlen and Bertha (Miller) Reynolds on February 19th 1935 in Brinkman, Oklahoma and passed away in her home in Mangum, Oklahoma on March 7th 2023 at the age of 88. Lois grew up on a farm outside of Brinkman, OK, this helped to mold her into a sweet, hard working, selfless person. The middle of three girls she was loved and cherished deeply by her parents and sisters. She attended and graduated high school in Brinkman.
She met and fell in love with Kenneth Earl Reynolds. The two wed on August 22nd, 1952 in a double wedding with her sister Doris and Kenneth's brother Bill. To this blessed union they added two beautiful daughters, Glenda Earlene and Sharon Rae. Lois was an amazing mother, doting on her daughters every chance she got. Throwing birthday parties, making them clothes, styling their hair and allowing sleepovers with endless homemade, from-scratch treats were just a few of the loving benefits her girls enjoyed. Lois has made their family home in many places across the world thanks to Kenneth's work in the armed forces, each time they settled somewhere new she diligently made it home. Some of the places they lived include Alaska, the island of Guam, and South Dakota.
Lois was an excellent homemaker, always making delicious meals from scratch. She truly enjoyed being a homemaker, wife and mother most. Some of her hobbies include crafting, designing floral arrangements, sewing, and making cabbage patch dolls. She was an avid bowler, she was in many leagues and won awards often. Lois was known for her banana pudding, so much so, that it was no longer called banana pudding and was instead dubbed Nana Pudding. Lois held a deep belief that her God given assignment on earth was to help others. This drove her to cook meals for countless funerals, sick friends and acquaintances. She served selflessly at the Mangum Church of God where she was a member for many years. So many people affectionately called her Mama and Nana who were not kin but they were loved just the same. Her servant's heart will be remembered fondly by many.
Lois is survived by her daughter Glenda Chirstian and husband Brian of Mangum, OK, seven grandchildren; Shawn Minson and wife Jill of Corn, OK, Justin Minson and wife Judith of Mangum, OK, Cassandra Baxter of Arvada, CO, Dylan Baxter of Colorado Springs, CO, Kiley Barnett of Rio Rancho, NM, Brenna Wintermute and husband Marshall of Albuquerque, NM, Seth Christian of Rio Rancho, NM, and 12 great grandchildren; Randa, Melani, Zachary, Kaden, Miranda, Rosie, Kaleb, Brody, Garrett, Kaisley, Canaan, and Brice, 2 great great grandchildren, Lane and Rylee, and numerous other friends and family.
