Obituary for Lorance C. Gilford
Lorance C. "Meno" Gilford, age 63, of Altus, passed away May 16, 1999 in Altus. He was born August 1, 1935 in Wagoner, Oklahoma, to the late Jeff and Theo (Cotton) Gilford.
Meno had lived in the Altus and Jackson County area for over 40 years moving here from Wagoner, Oklahoma. He owned and operated Meno's Apartments in Altus for many years.
Meno enjoyed fishing, and spending time with his family and many friends. He was a member of the Sunset Baptist Church in Altus.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 22, 1999 at 3:00pm in the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel at Wagoner, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery at wagoner, Oklahoma.
Meno will lie in state at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Thursday, May 20, 1999 from 9:00am-5:00pm.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Novella Gilford of Altus; four children, Mearl Gilford Jones, Theola Gilford Brown both of Altus, Aundre Gilford of Vernon, Texas, and Theovar Gilford of Louisiana; three step-children, Raymond Hodge of Altus, Billy Williams of Washington D.C., Wilma Hodge of Lawton, Oklahoma; two brothers, Johnny Gilford and Lon D' Gifford both of Wagoner, Oklahoma; one sister, Jewelene Gilford of Tulsa, Oklahoma and twenty-five grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.
