JAMESON

Lottie Lorene Jameson, age 90, of Mangum, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 25, 2009, at Mangum Community Hospital.

Mrs. Jameson was born on April 28, 1918, in Quinton, Oklahoma to Tom and Gracie (Green) Henson. With most of her young life spent in the Quinton area, she married Chester L. Jameson on May 2, 1934, in Stigler, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on August 20, 1976, after forty-two wonderful years together. Shortly after marriage, in 1935, the Jamesons moved to Arizona where they spent the next several years farming in the California and Arizona area. In the early 1960s the family moved to the Russell Community where they began farming and then later to Mangum where they ran Maw and Paws Caf" for several years. After Chester"s death, Lorene moved back to the farm near Russell and continued to live there until the early 1980s when she moved back to Mangum. Lorene loved buying and selling real estate, attending auctions, sewing, cooking and spending time with her friends and family. She was also a USDA licensed dog breeder and raised Chinese Pugs for many years.

Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sons, Chester Leon Jameson, Jerry Lee Jameson and Thomas Lynn Jameson; one grandson, Jason Mathews; one brother, Eugene Henson; and two sisters, Lizzie Draper and Irene Bray. She is survived by three children, LaHoma Shannon and husband Louis of McAlester, Donald Jameson and wife Jolene of McAlester and Ann Bender and husband James of Mangum; a daughter-in-law, Heide Jameson of Duke; one sister, Allie Lewallen of Mangum; fourteen grandchildren, Ida Mae Wall and husband Rick, David Shannon and wife Kathleen, Randy Shannon, Donald Leon Jameson, Deborah Mathews and husband Randy, Rick Jameson and wife Linda, Kim Eccles and husband Greg, Jimmy Bender and wife Marla, Michael Bender, Barbara Shumate, Melvin Bender and wife Carol, Donna, Jennifer and Michelle; twenty-seven great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Lorene Jameson will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at the Russell Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Bender officiating. Interment will follow at the Russell Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
