Obituary for Lucille Gomez Pewett
Lucille Gomez Pewett, age 64 of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, January 24, 2020 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Lucille was born in Mineral Wells, Texas on September 28, 1955 the fifth of eight children to her parents Manuel C. Gomez and Pauline (Mendez) Gomez. Lucille was raised in Ranger, Texas until the family moved to Mangum, Oklahoma. Later she moved back to southwest Oklahoma and had resided in Altus for many years. On April 30, 2004 Lucille married James E. Pewett in Mangum. She worked in home health for many years and she was the desert lady at the Western Sizzlin in Altus. Lucille enjoyed going to the casinos and she really enjoyed going to bingo in the Altus area. Most of all, Lucille loved her family and she treasured spending time with her grandson and she will be missed very much.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband James in 2006; two brothers, Joe Gomez; and Manuel Gomez, Jr.; three sisters, Alla Ray Harper; Joyce Stowe; and Lupe Green; Lucille is survived by her two sons, Virgil W. Wells of Altus; and Jason Eugene Pewett of Edmond; two sisters, Anita Wells of Eastland, Texas; and Lisa Wells of Cross Plains, Texas; her grandson, Dario Lee Pewett of Edmond; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
The family will greet friends at visitation from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday evening, January 27, 2020 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Chapel in Altus, Oklahoma.
Interment will follow funeral services at the Altus City Cemetery in Altus under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
