Obituary for Lue Vena Robertson
Lue Vena Robertson, age 86, long time resident of Altus and Jackson County passed away Friday, February 5, 1999 at her home in Altus.
She was born May 10, 1912 in Hillsboro, Texas to the late William and Ida Jane (Powell) Loftis. In 1914 her family traveled in a covered wagon to Jackson County where they farmed and picked cotton.
On May 10, 1930 at Mangum, Oklahoma she and Johnnie Fain Robertson were united in marriage. He preceded her in death, October 12, 1966. On December 19, 1943, LueVena and Johnnie started their business, Johnnie's Drive Inn, located on West Broadway. This was a true love to them, their family and friends.
Lue Vena enjoyed spending time with her family, and especially her great-grandson, Kyle. He was the light of his nanny's life.
Lue Vena is survived by two sons, Troyce Robertson and wife Shirley of Altus, Oklahoma, Gerald Robertson also of Altus; one sister Lucille Weathers of Lawton, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Theresa Jameson and husband Steve of Headrick, and Troy Dale Robertson and wife La Donna of Altus; one great-grandson, Kyle Jameson of Headrick, Oklahoma; four step-grandchildren, Chrystal Card, Jason Card, Ra'Chael Card and Chadd Card; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.
