Lula Hale Lucas, 89, of Elmer died Thursday at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services were held Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Carl MCoy. Burial was in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Lucas was born February 27, 1901 at Belton, Texas. She was the daughter of David and Tennie Adams. She married Tommie Lucas June 12, 1915 in Bryan County, Oklahoma. Mrs. Lucas was a homemaker and member of the Elmer First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three children, Roy Lucas of Altus, Oklahoma; Nedra Mitchell of Hereford, Texas, and Nadyne Gibbins of Clinton, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Jerry Lucas of Elmer, Oklahoma; Roylyn Tyra of Ft. Worth, Texas; and Mike Taylor of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; also surviving are nine great grandchildren and seven great great grandchilldren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Lucas and one grandson Stanley Mitchell.
