Obituary for Maggie Atteberry
Maggie Atteberry age 87, of Altus. Oklahoma died January 17, 1967 at Memorial Hospital in Altus.
She was born October 3, 1879 in Alanta, Georgia to J. A. Gould and Mary Jane (Smith) Gould. She came to Harmon County in 1908 with her parents. They were the first family to settle in Gould, Oklahoma. They started the Post Office and General Store in Gould. She married J. J. Atteberry, she was preceded in death by husband J.J. and daughter Mrs. A. R. Reeves.
Funeral services for Maggie Atteberry are scheduled for Thursday January 19, 1967 at 2:30 pm at the Baptist Church in Gould, Oklahoma, officiated by Rev. Gene Garrison and Rev. Tom Morgan. Burial will follow in the Gould Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Maggie Atteberry is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Earl Newberry, Altus, Oklahoma; Mrs. E. R. Cunningham, Merceed, California; Mrs. Bill Gover, Clinton, Oklahoma; Mrs. Howard Smith, Electra, Texas; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. John Acker, Hollis, Oklahoma.
