Obituary for Mamie Jewel Keeton
Mamie Jewel Keeton, age 70 of Blair, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2003, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Services have been scheduled for 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at the Church of God in Mangum, Oklahoma with Pastor Samuel Studer officiating. Interment will follow in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. The family will be receiving guests from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday evening at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Mrs Keeton was born on December 17, 1932, in Ada, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Milton and Bonnie (Crawley) Golden. She moved to this area from Wellington, Texas over 47 years ago. She worked as the Receptionist for the Jackson County office of the State Employment Service until her retirement. She also worked for the EasyStop in Blair for 4 years. On January 13, 1954, Mamie and William Mahoney were united in marriage in New Mexico. Mr. Mahoney preceded her in death.
Mamie was a member of the Church of God Church in Mangum, Oklahoma where she was very active. She had several hobbies including Crocheting, sewing, woodworking, doll collection, Indian crafts and bead working. She was a lovely, outgoing lady who was adored by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Howard Golden; her husband, William Raymond Mahoney in 1971; and by three grandchildren.
She lovingly survived by her best friend, Jack"Rabit" Colbert of Blair; four daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and James Kligore of Blair, Oklahoma, Carolyn and Juilo Sosa of Altus, Oklahoma, Rebecca and Kenny Blevins of Blair, Oklahoma and Teresa and Charles Sparks of Altus, Oklahoma; one son, William "Billy" Keeton of Altus, Oklahoma; her second husband, Marvin Keeton, one sister, Marie Perry of Morgan City, Louisiana; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
