Obituary for Margaret Massad Shadid
Funeral Services for Margaret Massad Shadid are scheduled for 2:00pm, Tuesday, May 27 at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Restlawn Cemetery. Rev. Ken Pate will officiate. Mrs. Shadid passed away May 24 in Altus. Mrs Shadid was born September 22, 1914 in Duke where she was an active member of the Methodist Church. Her family moved to Altus, where Margaret worked at Altus Air Force Base. Margaret married Abe Shadid on April 10, 1947 in Altus.
Margaret was also active in the family business in Altus, "The Powder Puff". Margaret was a devoted wife and mother, and a much loved grandmother. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:30 pm Monday, May 26, at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Memorials May be made to the Altus First United Methodist Church Family Life Center or the Charity of your choice.
Survivors include husband, Abe Shadid of the home; children, Steven Shadid of Altus, Jay Douglas Shadid and wife Patrice of Panhandle, Texas; 4 grandchildren; Toni, Carrie Len, Corby, and Brady Shadid and wife Kary. 1 great grandchild; Jay Patrick Shadid; three sisters Ethel Keegan of Lawton LaFonne Leeper and husband Towner of El Paso, Texas, Dorothy Weinstein and husband Art of Dallas, Texas. 4 sister-in-law Jerry Massad of Lawton; Alia Massad of Lawton, Lila Shadid ; Olga Hawkins and husband Allen of Altus; 3 brother-in-laws; Ned, Phillip and Coy Shadid; niece, Robin Shadid Wray and husband Chris, and their children Kelsey and Christopher all of Altus, as well as other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
