Margarita Pena Hernandez, 70, resident of Mangum, Oklahoma passed away July 28, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Margarita was born on September 4, 1950, in Mathis, Texas to the late David Lara Sr. and Elida Pena Lara. On February 21, 1973, married Matilde C. Hernandez, this marriage would be blessed with four children, Cruz, Nick, Ralph, and Nancy. Margarita worked in health care, taking care of others was her passion, she worked at Colonial Manor I and II, in Hollis, Oklahoma, English Village, in Altus, Oklahoma, Grace Living Center, in Mangum, Oklahoma, Mangum City Hospital, Elkview Home Care and working as a personal care provider until her passing. She was a believer in Jesus Christ and was always a devoted Christian. Margarita enjoyed working word puzzles, watching television, listening to music but above of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, David Lara, Sr.; her mother, Eldia Pena Lara; and her brother, Juan Lara.
Left to honor her memory is her husband of forty - eight years, Matilde C. Hernandez, three sons, Cruz Hernandez, Nick, and wife Jenni Hernandez, Ralph Hernandez; daughter, Rafaella “Nancy†Hernandez, brothers, Joe and wife Leticia Lara, Rene and wife Marty Lara, David, Jr. and wife Sheila Lara, Roy Lara, Martin Lara, sisters, Andrea and husband Pablo, Sr. Lopez, Paubla and husband Ben Vasquez, Ramija Sanchez, and Alcaria and husband Hector, Sr. Ramirez, eight grandchildren, Gabby Aldaco, Kayd Hernandez, Allie Ozuna, Aubree Hernandez, Keaytn Hernandez, Marlee Hernandez, Ella Hernandez, Adieline Hernandez, one great-grandchild on the way, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.
The Hernandez family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 2, 2021 at Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at The First Methodist Church of Mangum, Oklahoma.
Services have been entrusted to Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
