Obituary for Margie Faye Pickett
Margie Faye Sneed was born June 12, 1917 in Jackson County. She died February 24, 2003 in Altus, Oklahoma. She married Eugene Pickett, September 15, 1940 in Humphreys, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death in 1990.
Margie was a life long resident of Altus and Jackson County. Margie graduated from Altus Junior College, then attended the University of Oklahoma where she played tennis on the Oklahoma Varsity Tennis Team. she served as President of the Jackson county Extention Homemakers, past President of the Eugene Fields PTA, JCMH Ladies Auxillary, where she served as President for 2 years, member of the Excellsior Sunday School Class, Communion Stewardess for 9 years, WOSC Water Exercise, member of Silver Belles Dance Group, long time member of the First United Methodist Church, and an Avid Sports Fan.
Survivors include two children; David Pickett and Karen of Altus; Danny Pickett of Norman, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; Brad Pickett and Jennifer of Altus, Greg Pickett and Kim of Gladstone, Mo. Bryan Pickett and Chrissy of The Woodlands, Tx. Justin Pickett of Norman Ok. Brooke Pickett of Norman, Ok. four great-grandchildren; Braden and Emily Kate Pickett, Carson and Mason Pickett; one sister-in-law Celia Nelson of Guthrie, Ok. and one brother-in-law Fenton Cavenar of Lamar, Co.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Services for Margie Pickett are scheduled for 1 pm Friday, February 28, 2003 at the First Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Burr officiating. Interment will be in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Memorials in of Margie Pickett may be made to the Family Life Center at the First United Methodist Church.
