Obituary for Marion Sue Sexton
Marion Sue (Mills) Sexton, 78, Altus, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Altus.
Marion was born on December 8, 1946, in Dallas, Texas, as the eldest child of C.R. "Red" and Pauline (Roberts) Mills. As a young child, Sue moved with her family to Gould, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Gould High School with the Class of 1965. She later married Mike Khazoom, and together they had two children, Michael, and Mary Jane.
Sue's life was defined by her unwavering love and care for others. She found immense joy in baking, gardening, and exploring her artistic talents. She was a devoted member of the Tamarack Road Church of Christ and was known for her kindness, creativity, and selflessness.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son, Michael; her brothers, Randy and Bruce Mills; and a sister, Mary Dobbs.
Sue's memory will forever be cherished by those she leaves behind: her daughter, Mary (Khazoom) Barnes of New Jersey; her grandchildren, Molly, and Michael Barnes; and her nieces, Bailey Dobbs of Colorado, and Mary Beth Tischler and husband, Robert, along with their daughter, Foster, of Altus. She is also survived by many other extended family members and dear friends.
Marion Sue's life was a testament to love, resilience, and faith. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Services to celebrate Marion Sue's life will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the Tamarack Road Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Gould Cemetery under the care of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making contributions in Sue's name to the Rheumatology Research Foundation (rheumresearch.org) or to the charity of your choice.
