Obituary for Marvin L. Connor
Marvin L. Connor was born August 2, 1919 at Hubbard Texas. He was the son of the late Johnny Eugene and Ethel Jane (Denton) Connor. He died August 2, 2003 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Marvin married Lou E. McCartney, April 3, 1948 at Childress, Texas.

Marvin served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He served in the Alueutian Islands in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, where he was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, American Defense Service Ribbon, American Theater Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater service Ribbon with the Bronze Star.

Marvin has been a resident of Altus and Jackson over 40 years, moving here from Hollis, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Warren Baptist Church. He served with Civil Service at AAFB, as an engineer with the Heating and Air Division until retirement in 1982.

Survivors include his wife Lou Connor of the home; two children Loyd Connor and wife Shirley of Blair, Oklahoma; Marvin Carrol (Butch) Connor and wife Lisa of Friendship, Oklahoma; one sister, Lola Belle Johnson of Childress, Texas; three grandchildren; Brandy Conner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Cindy and Ivan Hernandez of Altus, Oklahoma and Nicolas Conner of Friendship, Oklahoma; one great-grandson Gabriel Hernandez of Altus, Oklahoma.

Services for Marvin Conner are scheduled for 10:00 am Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. Paul Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. The family of Marvin Conner will greet friends, Monday, August 4, 2003 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Hone form 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
